Years after immigrating to Los Angeles, I started Woodspoon in honor and memory of my adoptive mother, Francisca, who taught me to cook as a young girl. At Woodspoon, which is a 32-seat, sit-down full service restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, I work each and every day to make people feel like they are visiting a relative's home for a meal cooked with love. From our spiced cinnamon water and fresh coffee served all day, to our now-famous chicken pot pie and homemade sangria, I work to continue using the secret traditions of cuisine passed down for generations when cooking for guests from every corner of this beautiful world.
