It's hard to believe that candles were once our only source of light after dark before electricity. Today, candles provide comfort in times of sadness; are the perfect complement in celebrations; scent our space and enable us to relax.
My passion for candles began at age 15. I opened Ye Olde Gift Shoppe in 2015. I'm known as the Candle Lady and I have established myself as a trusted source for made in USA high quality candles and I also offer a shopping experience away from the stress of crowded malls in a relaxed atmosphere with old world charm décor and music.
You'll also find non-candle gifts such as Balloons, Coffee Mugs, Essential Oils, Gemstone Pendants, Greeting Cards, Harney & Sons Tea, Incense, Soaps, and much more. Wedding Services are also offered such as Favors and Wedding Invitations. I offer consultations for couples to view and feel samples from an invitation album.
The shop is organized in clearly marked sections in order for the customer to easily find the types of candles they're looking for. I'm always offering suggestions or ideas for how to use the items once they bring it home or give as a gift.
Who buys the most candles? Surprisingly, it's almost a tie between male and female customers as to who buys more candles since men are "getting into candles" so it isn't just a "girl thing" anymore. The male customers have commented to her that candles help them relax after a stressful day.
So if you're tired of being disappointed with scented candles that smelled great at the store but never lasts once you light them, stop by and try one, you will not be disappointed. I offer high quality, long lasting soy and beeswax candles in a variety of scents and styles to satisfy even the most discerning candle lovers.
My Beeswax Feathered Twisted Candles were featured on TV Series Supergirl, Season 3, Episodes 4 & 20; I was also interviewed on the Best Selling Candle Types and Scents for the August/September 2018 Issue of Souvenirs, Gift & Novelties Magazine and most recently interviewed for digital Hudson Valley Magazine Article on 6/14/19 on Candle Shops in the Hudson Valley.
Being featured in a TV show or magazine is very rewarding but for me the most rewarding part of my business is when the customer returns for more candles or another gift. I make it my business to get to know each customer and learn more about their personal taste each time they return and uses technology to keep that connection.
