The buying power of women in the US is $6.4 Trillion dollars annually. $400 million of that is spent in the beauty category alone. Unfortunately, the story we are told is that we are not young enough, thin enough, nor pretty enough and that drives us to want to change ourselves. For women like me, in our 40's and outside of the conventional beauty standards, where does that leave us? There is not a company that is focused on this consumer and that, to me, is a massive problem worth solving.
The mission of Brooklyn + Rye is to speak directly to the woman who feels left behind by the industry. She does not see herself in marketing, nor viral on Instagram, or comfortable in the traditional beauty and wellness spaces. She comes in all races, backgrounds, religions, ages, sizes, and orientations. Because she is Me. Nobody in the industry I have worked my entire career in speaks to me and it's time to change that.
