Our Story
I was born in New York City but spent my childhood in a small town outside of Syracuse, NY. Two weeks after graduating Ithaca College, I was driving myself down to Atlanta, GA to start my very first job at CNN. In 1995, I found my creative passion,… I was born in New York City but spent my childhood in a small town outside of Syracuse, NY. Two weeks after graduating Ithaca College, I was driving myself down to Atlanta, GA to start my very first job at CNN. In 1995, I found my creative passion, pottery, while struggling in my first marriage. At that time I was working in sales during the day, but the evenings spent in the pottery studio among other creative women trying to find a way to express themselves was the perfect sanctuary from my unhappy marriage. One day in the studio, Zelda, my first face plate, was created. The first of many to embody a collection of women with different names and stories. These initial plates were the inspiration for what is now the Personality Plates collection.
