My husband and I are equal partners. While growing our other business, ZIVA Mediterranean Foods, we discovered a huge lack of production and storage space for small food businesses in Seattle. When we finally located a great space for ZIVA, we realized it was too big, so we founded TOJO to hold the master lease and build and run the commissary as a separate business entity. Now, along with several other small food businesses, ZIVA pays licensing fees to TOJO for use of the facility. So far, coincidentally, all of our tenant businesses are at least 50% female owned.
