While growing our other business, ZIVA Mediterranean Foods, we discovered a huge lack of production and storage space for… TOJO Properties LLC was established to build and manage a commissary kitchen in Seattle. My husband and I are equal partners. While growing our other business, ZIVA Mediterranean Foods, we discovered a huge lack of production and storage space for small food businesses in Seattle. When we finally located a great space for ZIVA, we realized it was too big, so we founded TOJO to hold the master lease and build and run the commissary as a separate business entity. Now, along with several other small food businesses, ZIVA pays licensing fees to TOJO for use of the facility. So far, coincidentally, all of our tenant businesses are at least 50% female owned.

After obtaining a degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and working in business process reengineering, I decided my passion was food and went to culinary school. I have been working in restaurants, catering, food manufacturing… After obtaining a degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and working in business process reengineering, I decided my passion was food and went to culinary school. I have been working in restaurants, catering, food manufacturing and now commissary kitchen management ever since. Luckily, I found a great business and life partner in my husband who also talks only about food and beverages!
