Tico Coffee Roasters exists to offer a truly unique experience that empowers, protects and nourishes life from farm to cup.
We started Tico Coffee Roasters in 2010 out of the dream of this experience to everyone in the United Stated and the world.
I grew up in Costa Rica surrounded by coffee plantations and chose Agricultural Economics as my university major with the believe that our food choices will impact communities and the environment, not just our stomachs. I have deep respect for farm work, and I'm inspired by the way and country I grew up in and its policies to protect the environment. Like Costa Rica, I want Tico Coffee Roasters to be a role model for high quality products, produced with equity and in harmony with the environment.
We are a Green Business Certified by the California Green Business Network. We have also partnered with Pachama and earthbanc to do our part in reducing the worlds carbon footprint, and we are offsetting all carbon footprint from our shipping.
We work directly with coffee farmers in different countries to source our coffees. Over 60% of our coffees are source directly without a middle men.
As a woman, Latina and immigrant, I have the commitment to increase our purchases of coffees produced by women. Women have a very important and crucial role in the coffee industry, however, is not always recognized neither paid for.
Our coffees are single origin and or micro lots, as well as blends with different roast profiles to satisfy customers preferences.
We sell our products online, through some local grocery stores and wholesale to local businesses in the Bay Area.
