The Fattened Caf is a Filipino BBQ Pop Up Restaurant. We are just a little over 3 years old! This year, we were named one of 2021's Rising Stars by Feast Magazine. In 2020, we were challenged to pivot our business model to include consumer goods… The Fattened Caf is a Filipino BBQ Pop Up Restaurant. We are just a little over 3 years old! This year, we were named one of 2021's Rising Stars by Feast Magazine. In 2020, we were challenged to pivot our business model to include consumer goods production in order to survive the pandemic. We began making ready-to-eat Filipno food and packaged our housemade Filipino smoked sausages, called longgaisa, to sell in 9 grocery stores. To our surprise our longganisa would sell out every week! We found ourselves making over 100 lbs of sausages to meet half of the demand. We saw an opportunity to truly grow this side of the business through a community that loved our product. We have sold thousands of units of our longganisa since August and want to grow more. In the past month we have successfully become USDA certified, found a co-packer that can produce up to 1000 lbs in 2 hours, and have expanded to 67 grocery stores throughout Missouri and Illinois. We want to continue to expand nationwide into stores like Wholefoods and Costco while developing more ready-to-eat Filipino products.
