The Bare Essentials in partnership with the community, will empower students and families to become creative leaders, support nonprofit organizations in addressing community-identified needs, and inspire academic innovation and interdisciplinary problem solving. As an outlet for children on the south and west sides of Chicago during this past year-COVID-19 Pandemic, a direct mission to support families in the area of health-where there are Food Deserts (Food deserts are places where it is difficult to buy fresh food)-which is the problem. Solution: We adjusted our mission by implementing more Community Based initiatives-our mission was to provide "Life Options", which included adding the vision for healthy living- which means " Juicing 2 Live"...by teaching communities to Juice! We have piloted a solution to get fruits and veggies into these desert communities by teaching ways to incorporate such practices, FREE during our ‘Outreach" segment.
Additionally, TBELTO supports job training, post secondary education, employment, and life skills necessary to secure and keep a job, earn a living wage, and seek opportunities for advancement. We also encourage awareness around expanding women's equal opportunity in employment, including work/life balance policies, pay equity, and inclusion in traditionally male trades. While informing and researching public policies to prevent and end poverty. As mentioned, one of our primary goals is to protect and support young women's and girls' educational inclusion and achievements around the Chicagoland underserved communities.


Food 4 Life-a subsidiary to The Bare Essentials of Learning through Tutoring and Outreach;, we are helping build thriving communities by addressing issues fundamental to economic health and sustainability. We are advancing economic mobility by addressing issues related to workforce development and education, community development and basic needs. As a woman based institution, we respond in two ways — by helping to address the immediate health needs, as well as developing longer term solutions through a holistic healthy way of extending life! Food 4 Life will work in our communities, because we have seen an influx of interest for healthy alternatives and we do not have such options as Juice Bars and corporations are not willing to gamble in our communities….but I will!
