This enterprise is to combat the ongoing damage done by fast fashion and more importantly, providing a platform for independent, emerging and student designers without exclusivity without racism without ageism without ALL the isms that have kept a lot of creatives behind and/or down. We've hosted fashion showcases, workshops, contests and educational programming to date, within the 2 years we've been operating during this pandemic.

Our Story
Sustainable Fashion Week was born from need. It all started with Born Again Vintage, the 100% sustainable brand created in 2002. From that brand came a Random House published book by the same name, in 2008. By 2010, one of the first sustainable… Sustainable Fashion Week was born from need. It all started with Born Again Vintage, the 100% sustainable brand created in 2002. From that brand came a Random House published book by the same name, in 2008. By 2010, one of the first sustainable classes at FIT was created based on the book. What followed was the brick and mortar, House of BAV. Home of all things sustainable, but more importantly home of local creatives from the community. It was the store that sparked the idea of creating Sustainable Fashion Week when there were no local platforms for these amazing creatives to be seen. Sustainable Fashion Week just premiers it’s FIRST LIVE SHOW on the streets of the Garment District to rave reviews!
