The response from the vegan community was overwhelming and we decided… I have been vegan for about four years now and found it difficult to find vegan options at local restaurants and events. My then partner and I held our first vegan brunch in 2016. The response from the vegan community was overwhelming and we decided that there was a need for more all vegan menu options in the Hampton Roads area. We named our new venture Senses Vegan Comfort Food; a name that coincides with the delicious southern style dishes and American comfort foods on our menu. Senses began preparing vegan food at festivals, for local small businesses and small events. We opened our first brick and mortar restaurant in August of 2018 in Norfolk; a small takeout only location that received a lot of recognition from customers and local and national media outlets. The response to an all vegan southern cuisine eatery was immense and within a year we were able to relocate to a larger space with a dining area.
