I started my business as a vintage clothing shop in 2009. I began including home goods and furniture slowly and eventually transitioned to selling only furniture by 2018. I love working for myself and having control over who I work with (hire) and support. I make a conscious effort to work with small business owners who are disenfranchised. My delivery drivers are African American, I store my pieces in a warehouse owned by a Mexican American Couple. I try to support and consign with as many female and fellow small business owners as well. The community is supportive and lovely in how we all try hard to promote and support each other's business's. I absolutely love my business and my community and would be so grateful for the opportunity to be able to build and develop it with a grant. The idea of having employees and being able to impact their lives financially and emotionally in a positive ongoing way is very exciting. My hope is to eventually open a store front and start a website where I am able to sell both in person and online.
