I have a deep rooted love for coffee, so the plan was always that I could make the coffee, my mom could make her town-famous cookies, our friends would cover the design aspect of the shop, and so in. It was always that silly dream that would be just that - a dream. I was given the ability to live out my dream throughout high school and even a little bit of college as I worked in a coffee shop for 6 years. This sparked my interest even more in having my own coffee shop, but again it just seemed too impossible. I spent time doing mission work in other countries such as Haiti and Honduras which encouraged me to seek a degree in the social service field. After completing college, I worked as a clinician at a social service agency. My clientele were children and young adults with developmental disabilities, many of whom also had mental health diagnoses. At that time, I thought that was it. I thought that that was what I would be doing the rest of my life. However, I firmly believe that God has a sense of humor for one day I woke up and things completely changed. With my dream of owning a coffee shop always in the back of my mind, God began opening doors in the hometown I grew up in. Before I knew it, a building was located, a coffee shop was named, and construction is beginning. Rosie's will provide fresh caffeinated and decaffeinated beverages, refreshing cold drinks, warm pastries, and a selection of meal options. My intentions for the shop, Rosie's Coffee Company, is that it will be a place that all feel welcomed, seen, and loved. Additionally, my hope is that as Rosie's grows we will have the opportunity to come up alongside local food pantries and not-for-profits to provide them with a source of delicious foods, drinks, and encouragement.
