I had just received independent licensure which enabled me to open my own practice. I had saved up my previous earning to be able to lease, furnish, and decorate a small suite. When I opened my first day I was the only counselor in the office with my daughter as my office manager. I had 40 people on my schedule that first week and I got so busy there were many weeks that I saw over 40 people and I did this for about 2 years. I was then at a place that I believed I could start bringing on other counselors and have enough clientele to feed them and myself. I decided to take the necessary steps to become a Clinical Supervisor so that I could bring on counselors who still needed to work under supervision to receive enough hours to apply for independent licensure. I am able to train, teach, support, mentor and encourage them as they learn and grow as counselors. I now have 6 counselors in addition to myself in my practice. I have or am currently supervising each one of them on their path to independent licensure. I have two that have just recently applied for independent licensure and one has just received her independent licensure. They will both remain in my practice in this new capacity. We are a fully female-owned and operated business. All of my counselors are female and both of my office managers are also female. I have enjoyed hiring these counselors, some, fresh out of their internship, and building them up to be confident, capable, and proficient mental health professionals. My goal is to build up enough capital in my business to lease a larger suite to provide more offices and grant me the opportunity to add more counselors to my practice. We are a trauma healing-focused practice as I have always had the goal to get to the root of the visual symptoms and facilitate a deep level of healing that will provide relief and lasting results for those individuals that we work with. As such, I and my counselors have all received additional training and education to be able to implement modalities that allow for this deeper level of healing. We work with all ages of individuals, males, females, couples, adolescence, and children. We work with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, anger issues, relationship issues, and trauma recovery. I am passionate about building up confident counselors and facilitating healing, growth, recovery, and overall wellbeing for those individuals that we work with.
