Morningside PlayCare is a unique childcare program that takes advantage of the latest neurolinguistic science to produce multilingual children. OUR MISSION: \u000bMorningside PlayCare cultivates the emotional health, language genius, open-mindedness, and wonder-filled hearts of young children. We do this by providing nurturing childcare in a Mandarin and Spanish immersion play environment from 8am – 6pm, daily, 12 months per year. We serve children 6 months to 7 years of age. Our teachers only speak to and play with the children in Mandarin and Spanish. As a result the children become bilingual or multilingual by the time they are 5 or 6 years old. Our curriculum is rich with an emphasis on nature discovery and yoga. We go outside in all weather, and prefer green space over traditional playgrounds. We practice both Hatha Yoga and the psychology of Yoga toward the end of building healthy, confident, secure, resilient children. Our children learn to respect all life, affirm themselves, regulate their emotions and behavior, and be in relationship with nature. OUR BIG VISION: To produce a replicable model that can lead to a multilingual American citizenry in a few short years - One that can build bridges across cultures within the US and abroad.
