I have been writing about Race and innovations in Black History since 1986. Theater and Music is an example of a functioning nucleus in a caring environment. Diverse Artists and workers come together to make an event happen. I formed Melton Pot Productions to be a part of helping society operate to the good of all like a well run Production.
I wanted to be a part of projects to identify, articulate and address the root causes of problems.
In March 2021 Melton Pot was awarded a $5600 Grant from LMCC to present the play, ‘Miss Ida B' and an Antilynching Panel. I am currently "On the Radar". as Collaborator on a $100,000 Grant Requested of Creative Capital. I have been developing and presenting plays in schools, summer camps neighborhood churches, and doing Community Outreach to Youth (focused on Literacy) for many years. I was Artistic Director of Drama at New Amsterdam Musical Association from 2005-2007 producing shows as Melton Pot Productions. I am uniquely qualified in wanting to voice the injustice of "I can't breathe" " "Get your knee off our necks" from George Floyd to it's racist origin, Slave Emancipation. I wish to Fulfil the legacy of Ida B Wells (1863-1932), America's foremost Anti-Lynching Activist. I am attempting to present my play, ‘Miss Ida B' along with a Panel Discussion to help achieve Justice one Police Force, one City at a time.
I registered my company, Melton Pot Productions Inc. as a 501(C)3 in 2018 wishing to be a fulltime cultural entity. The educational component is the organic effect of witnessing theater and art that entertains, informs, and motivates.
