I was very fortunate to be able to access scholarships and grants to attend universities such as UCSB, Stanford and USAL in Argentina and I firmly believe that every student deserves these same life-changing opportunities, especially now as tech education becomes more and more important to economic opportunities and to the needs facing people across the world.
Even though STEM occupations have outpaced all other job growth, African Americans represent only 9% of STEM workers, while Hispanics comprise only 7% of all STEM workers.
That needs to change, but in order for it to change, all students must have equal access to science and tech education.
