Our Story
After a career in high-tech corporate finance, I founded GiveAshare.com in the early 2000s to make it easy to give a share of stock as a gift. My husband, Rick Roman, and I had been gifting Boston Celtics stock to our nieces, nephews and friends'… After a career in high-tech corporate finance, I founded GiveAshare.com in the early 2000s to make it easy to give a share of stock as a gift. My husband, Rick Roman, and I had been gifting Boston Celtics stock to our nieces, nephews and friends' kids for years, but getting our hands on the paper stock certificate was time consuming and expensive. We had to find an easier and more affordable way, so GiveAshare.com was born. Turns out a framed stock certificate makes a great gift for adults, too! By 2008, we landed a spot on the Portland Business Journal’s Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses list. As a mom to three daughters, I am passionate about improving financial literacy and helping the next generation achieve financial freedom.
