Since day one, Uli's Gelato has been committed to sourcing only the best, seasonal, and local ingredients for our small-batch gelato. About one-third of the flavors are the staples – like the phenomenal Chocolate Sorbet or Sea Salt Caramel, one-third are seasonal flavors – sourced from Farmers' Markets, and the last third are the LA-inspired flavors, which pay homage to the many neighborhoods of our city – think horchata, black sesame and lots more on rotation. Last summer, Los Angeles Magazine held a readers' poll where over 6,000 Angelenos cast their votes and named us Best Ice Cream in Los Angeles.

Our Story
My name is Ulviyya and I go by Uli. I am originally from Azerbaijan. At 16, frustrated by prospects in my home country, I found a full-time job that paid me $50 a month and gave me free dial-up internet. I used little I had to apply to many colleges… My name is Ulviyya and I go by Uli. I am originally from Azerbaijan. At 16, frustrated by prospects in my home country, I found a full-time job that paid me $50 a month and gave me free dial-up internet. I used little I had to apply to many colleges in the U.S. until I accepted a full scholarship from the Colorado College in 2001. In 2013, in true Liberal Arts fashion, I quit my stable job at an investment management firm, cashed out my 401(k) and started construction on my gelateria. My Downtown facility opened in 2014, followed by my Mid-City store in 2017. My true passion is recipe making. You will often find me tinkering with recipes on my beloved Microsoft Excel. My mission is simple – I want to use the best ingredients to make delicious frozen treats.
