I started Daybird from a frustration with my own routine and after hearing the same emotional friction over and over again from women. Like many women during the pandemic, I wanted to unlearn societal beauty expectations and take back ownership of… I started Daybird from a frustration with my own routine and after hearing the same emotional friction over and over again from women. Like many women during the pandemic, I wanted to unlearn societal beauty expectations and take back ownership of what beauty meant to me. Upon cleaning out my bathroom cabinet, I came across an $80 Vitamin C serum that was expired and still three-quarters of the way full. It was the most expensive item on my shelf, and I thought to myself “how is this benefiting me if I never put it on my skin?” I threw so much away that day and found through customer conversations that while the beauty industry tells us to wear more, we want to wear less and benefit more.
