Chica Beauty was inspired 12 years ago by our publication, "ChicaGirl Magazine" --a magazine with a target audience of girls and women, ages 12-24. ChicaGirl provided inspirational, educational, & fashion articles with our goal of "inspiring girls 1 page at a time." We featured real girls on the cover, not models or celebrities. Education was a huge priority and through community partnerships, we awarded over $380,000 in college scholarships! We also provided several internships—it is important for us to share and mentor. Some of our interns grew to become leaders in their fields and entrepreneurs; thanking us for helping them learn and grow. We are continuing this focus on empowering women with Chica Beauty, recognizing that true beauty comes from inside and outside and recognizing the positive impact ChicaGirl had, we decided to focus on the Latinx beauty industry—bringing that same female empowerment to Chica Beauty, while continuing to give to our community!
We, Mei-Lon & Toni, wholeheartedly believe in our mission of simplifying your beauty routine with essential products while enhancing natural beauty. Chica Beauty empowers Latina women to be unapologetically who they are...happy, joyful, real, natural, and full of life. Chica Beauty is the ONLY beauty brand on the market today that promotes Latina NATURAL beauty. We create high-quality beauty essentials made to simplify life and beauty routines for women of all ages. Our products are designed to bring out their true beauty. We believe makeup should accentuate each person's natural features, not cover them. Our products are cruelty-free, paraben free, anti-aging, and environmentally friendly. We are a brand focused on simplifying real girls and women's lives. We spend time talking to women and asking what they want, what they need; in turn, we create beauty sets to simplify their routines with beauty essentials. Yes, we are a small, minority, start-up company, but we have proven that if we can succeed and survive during a pandemic, we are resilient and can continue making a positive difference. Opportunities like the Stacy Rise Project are instrumental in the successes of minority, women-owned businesses and we would be truly grateful to be accepted into this program! Here's to women empowerment, through simplicity, celebrating real beauty and giving back to the community! We're more than just a makeup company!
And as we love to say: GET IT CHICA!
*Note: We launched Chica Beauty in November 2019 and because we launched prior to COVID-19 pandemic our business model quickly had to be adjusted. We were on track to be sold in retail stores but because of the shift to be 100% online we weren't able to reach the $25,000 revenue as mentioned for the Stacy Rise Project. We hope this will not hinder our application by the selection committee. We realize having the opportunity to learn and work with mentors to help grow our small business is an opportunity we had to apply for. We are sisters and believe in the bigger picture of what we are doing with Chica Beauty and we would be humbled to be a part of your program and continue to grow our brand and mission.
