It was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Randy and Cori Anne Kopke in their home kitchen with family recipes and produce from their backyard garden.
"Our first order was 100 jars of pickles for favors for my brother's wedding. We came up with names such as "Dill Death Do Us Part" and "We Go Together Like Bread & Butter".
"The pickles were a hit and Backyard Brine was born!"
Since then we have grown from a small local Farmer's Market company to a growing regional brand. Our products are available in Whole Foods NE region and hundreds of other locations throughout the North East. We also have a food service line that is distributed from Boston to DC.
What makes us special? We call it "The Taste of Freedom." Our pickles are hand-packed in small batches using fresh, all-natural and local ingredients…free from artificial preservatives, chemicals, and that weird yellow #5 stuff. We have fun and unique recipes that stand out from the rest. Careful....our pickles are addictive.
