I spent almost a decade living and working in China as a manufacturing agent where I helped my clients in the US and EU find the right factory to make their products. This experience gave me a front row seat to the globalization of the fashion… I spent almost a decade living and working in China as a manufacturing agent where I helped my clients in the US and EU find the right factory to make their products. This experience gave me a front row seat to the globalization of the fashion industry. I saw over and over again the interplay between the design of a product and its effects on the people who make the product, the people who use the product, and the planet. At a certain point I just knew in my heart that there needed to be a better way. And so, I founded Astor + Orion to not only create beautiful jewelry but to also be an exercise in building the SYSTEMS that will create a future that our customers want and that I want to leave my children.
