At Alyssum, we offer quality education in visible, diverse, teacher led micro schools to families regardless of financial means. For the 2018 - 2019 school year, more than 50% of Alyssum students qualified for free or reduced lunch. We believe the Montessori philosophy to be a proven and scientifically based pedagogy that understands true learning happens through self-construction so we provide aesthetically pleasing classrooms prepared by trained Montessori guides who strive to create a seamless boundary between the classroom, a child's home and the greater community in which we reside. We embrace Nine Principles that define all Wildflower Schools: a school visible to the community, a home-school connection, a mission to address equity and social justice, a belief that Montessori is a tested pedagogy where observation in the classroom supports innovation and best practices, where learning takes place in a beautiful environment, and teachers with training and experience lead their schools in a supportive network.
